Bill Gunn, Head Boys' Basketball Coach at Kirkwood High School, has been named as the National High School Basketball Coaches Association Missouri Coach of the Year.

A committee of members of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) selected Coach Gunn for this honor. He was presented with the award at the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State banquet on April 29 at Drury University in Springfield, MO.

Coach Gunn has an extensive basketball resume including working as a head coach at Cuba, Hillsboro, Northwest House Springs and currently at Kirkwood

High School, where he earned his 200thwin as a head coach. He also served as an assistant under MBCA Hall of Fame Head Coach David Fox at Jefferson City High School.

Coach Gunn was not only recognized for his excellence on the basketball court but his work away from the basketball floor. Through his work promoting basketball on his website,, and his work as web-master for the MBCA for the past 14 years and President Elect of the MBCA, Coach Gunn epitomizes the main objective of the MBCA: "Promoting Basketball in the state of Missouri."
