Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Todd Frazier hit a pair of solo home runs togive the Cincinnati Reds a 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the finaleof a four-game series.

Jay Bruce hit a solo homer and drove in two, while Shin-Soo Choo also homeredand scored twice for the Reds, who took three of four in the series.

Tony Cingrani (7-3) was charged with two runs on four hits and three walkswhile striking out seven over 5 1/3 innings to pick up the win.

David Freese hit a solo home run for the Cardinals, who have lost six of theirlast eight games.

Lance Lynn (13-10) continued his struggles as he gave up four runs on sevenhits with four walks and six strikeouts over five innings of work to take theloss. The right-hander has dropped five of his past six starts.

Both teams are chasing idle Pittsburgh for first place in the NL Central. TheCardinals dropped to 1 1/2 games back, while the Reds moved to within threegames of the lead.

St. Louis and Cincinnati occupy the first and second wild card positions.

The Reds struck in the second inning on an RBI single from Brandon Phillipsand made it a 2-0 game in the third off of Frazier's solo shot to left.

In the fourth, Choo's solo homer to center, his 20th of the year, made it 3-0,but the Cardinals got it back in the fifth on Freese's leadoff homer tocenter.

Bruce's solo homer in the fifth saw Cincinnati take a 4-1 lead, but MattCarpenter tripled with one out in the sixth and came home on a wild pitch fromCingrani to make it a 4-2 contest.

In the bottom of the sixth, Choo singled with one out and Joey Votto laterwalked before Bruce singled to center for a 5-2 lead.

Frazier's second home run of the game came in the seventh when he led off theframe with a blast over the left field wall for his 15th home run of theseason.

Aroldis Chapman stranded two men on base in the ninth to close out thevictory.
