ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Basketball fans will be heading to St. Louis by the busloads this weekend. And while downtown businesses are welcoming them with open arms, fans are running out of places to stay.

Restaurants are also expecting to be packed around the clock. So, restaurants like Joe Buck's are being proactive to accommodate the crowds. The downtown hot spot is opening a private area for Wichita State fans, just like it did for the Missouri Valley championship.

Most hotels downtown are also booked up solid through the weekend. Lumiere Place managers say the phones started ringing off the hook after the bracket was announced Sunday night. They knew right away their rooms would fill up when they found out teams like KU, Kentucky, and WSU were coming to town.

"These are fans that travel and they will definitely be at the hotel, restaurants, gaming floor, and all over the city of St. Louis," said Lumiere Place General Manager Jeff Babinski.

"My serving staff will tell you that they're really appreciating the extra income. As a business operator we're enjoying the extra revenue. Wichita's been great to us and we're looking forward to another great weekend with them again," said Joe Buck's Downtown General Manager Erin Lang.

There are still hotel rooms available further outside of downtown, but even those are filling up fast.
