It's been a big week for Marc Fucarile and Jen Regan.
After sharing their story in a poignant ESPN special Tuesday about Fucarile's recovery from injuries suffered in last April's Boston Marathon bombings, the couple tied the knot at Fenway Park Thursday. The pair, who were engaged at the time of Marc's injury, vowed to get married as soon as he was able to dance at his wedding.
"He was standing for a good part of the day — he stood for almost all the portraits," photographer Nicole Chan told the site. "He did the first dance and the last dance. He danced with his mom. His grandmother was hugging him over and over. When he did use his wheelchair, he was doing wheelies. He's very charismatic — they both have such great chemistry."
Fucarile, 35, was the last person injured in the attacks to leave the hospital, emerging from Spaulding Rehabilation Hospital on crutches exactly 100 days later. He lost his right leg and suffered severe burns to his left one. As the E:60 special showed, the rehab process remains an ongoing challenge for both Fucarile and his new wife.
After the ceremony at Fenway, where the couple's five-year-old son Gavin served as best man, they moved on to a reception at Boston's Hotel Commonwealth. See more photos from the day here.
