(KSDK Sports) -- The 16/17th ranked Saint Louis Billikens (25-4, 12-2 Atlantic 10) will close out what has been an exciting regular season tonight against Dayton (20-9, 8-6 A-10). It will be an emotional night, as the team's seniors bid farewell. For some, it will be the last game they will play the game they grew up playing. But there's also something else in play tonight, like winning the game.
If they do, the Billikens are the conference champion.
Tip off tonight will be at 8 p.m. It is also the annual Billiken Blue Out, where all fans are encouraged to wear blue.
SLU will recognize its five seniors in a postgame ceremony following the Dayton game. Jake Barnett, Dwayne Evans, Jordair Jett, Rob Loe and Mike McCall Jr. comprise the winningest class in school history. In addition, the Billikens will recognize three senior student managers – Billy Flint, Joey Kouri and Charles Nishida.
The Billikens enter their final game ranked , No. 16 in the USA Today coaches' poll and No. 17 in the AP top 25. A win will give SLU the A-10 title. They are in first place, just one game ahead of Saint Joseph's and two games up on VCU.
But to clinch, Saint Louis must stop their current a two-game skid. The Billikens haven't lost three games in a row since February of 2011, the freshman year of SLU's current senior class. With a win in either of its two remaining regular-season games, Saint Louis will clinch at least a share of the A-10 regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the A-10 Championship in Brooklyn.
