Francis Howell moved on to the district championship game on Monday by defeating Holt 7-4 in the semifinals at Timberland High School.

Howell got the scoring started in the first inning when Nic Perkins laid down a bunt. Holt threw the ball away allowing the game's first run to score. The Vikings added another when Brendan Trimble singled home Elijah Dilday.

The Vikings extended the lead to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the 5th, highlighted by a Nic Perkins RBI single.

It was 4-1 in the 6th when Holt scored 3 runs to even it up at 4. The Vikings struck right back and scored 3 in the top of the seventh. A Braydon Cook fly ball to right just got down in front of a diving Devin Petit. Two runs scored to give the Vikings some insurance.

Cook shut the door on Holt with a 1-2-3 seventh and the Vikings advanced to play Washington in the finals on Wednesday.
