KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Free agent outfielder Carlos Beltran may be headed back to the team that originally drafted him.
The Kansas City Star is reporting the 36-year-old Beltran met with the Royals front office on Tuesday.
Beltran, who is coming off a two-year stint with the Cardinals, is reportedly seeking a three-year deal.
The perennial all-star played for the Royals from 1998 to 2004; he was drafted by the club in 1995.
Other teams interested in Beltran include the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, and Cincinnati Reds.
