ST. LOUIS – Mike Shannon will continue to be the voice of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The team announced Monday they have finalized a multi-year contract with Shannon, who will continue to join John Rooney on KMOX and the Cardinals Radio Network. Shannon will sit out for 50 road games this season, with Rick Horton and Al Hrabosky filling in.

Shannon will also continue to host "Live at Shannon's" after Tuesday and Friday home games beginning April 11.

"Mike's voice has become the soundtrack to St. Louis baseball," said Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III. "We look forward to having him back in the booth this season and for years to come."

The 2014 season will be Shannon's 42nd year broadcasting for the Cardinals, and his 56th year as part of the Cardinals organization.
