The St. Louis Cardinals open a weekend series in Chicago this afternoon and veteran Jon Jay will get the nod in centerfield as rookie Randal Grichuk will get his first taste of Wrigley Field playing in rightfield.

Both Mike Matheny and Wainwright shared some memories from their time playing in Wrigley Field as the venue celebrates its 100th birthday this season.

HISTORIC DAY
The game notes provided by team media staff remind us that May 2nd in 2005 marked the greatest comeback in Cardinals history. John Mabry had a 2-out, 2-run home run to cap a seven run rally in the 9th inning for the Birds to erase a six-run deficit and beat Cincinnati 10-9.

Besides the terrific day by Mabry and the Cardinals in 2005, May 2nd was also a good day in 1954 as Stan Musial hit three home runs to help defeat the N.Y. Giants 10-6.

Musial hit homers in the 3rd, 5th, and 8th innings to drive in 6 runs and accounted for 13 total bases. He also walked and had an additional hit to raise his average to .393. The Man.
