ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Fans waited overnight for "First Pitch Tickets" to Monday afternoon's game against the New York Yankees.
People paid $11.20 for two tickets that range from standing room only to field seats. It's the first time the Yankees have played in St. Louis since 2005.
Fans who attended Monday's game get to see members of the 1964 Cardinals team honored. It's the 50th anniversary of the Cardinals beating the Yankees to win the World Series. (Check out the 1964 World Series program below.)
Fans will receive a replica championship ring. Yankees are always a big draw, but even more so this year because their captain, Derek Jeter is retiring at the end of the year.
Before the game, Jeter will be given a gift by the Cardinals organization and Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Red Schoendienst.
