SAN DIEGO, Calif. – A St. Louis-born Marine stationed in Korea for one year surprised his wife, Tuesday night at the St. Louis Cardinals in San Diego.

Staff Sgt. Josh Smith was originally scheduled to come home Friday, but the date was moved up.

According to Fox Sports Midwest, Josh decided to surprise his wife Cassie, also a St. Louisan, by arranging to have her friends take her to the baseball game. He then contacted the Padres to see if they would help him out with the surprise.

During the second inning the announcer asked the crowded stadium to welcome Josh home as he reunites with his wife.
