In the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Kony Ealy, a defensive end from Missouri, has been drafted by the Carolina Panthers at No. 60 overall.
Last season, Ealy was the top defensive lineman on Missouri. He's a long and athletic end with a quick first step and provides versatility with the ability to play defensive tackle on passing grounds.
Ealy, who carried a first-round grade, will add to a rotation that already features Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson. Hardy is planning under the franchise tag this season. Johnson has had some injuries issues and a heavy cap hit.
One of the current starters could eventually be replaced by Ealy, who will provide depth.
