Lindsey Vonn will not be skiing for Team USA in Sochi due to a torn ACL. However, she will still be a part of the Sochi Olympics. NBC announced on Tuesday morning Vonn will be a part of the network's coverage of the Olympics, kicking off next week.

Vonn, who had successful surgery two weeks ago, will stay in the U.S. and will work as a correspondent for the Today show. According to NBC:

She will cover how the athletes prepare physically and mentally for the Games, and she will share some of her favorite memories. After the official start of the Olympics, she will continue her reporting for TODAY and NBC Sports from the U.S.

A gold medalist in Vancouver, Vonn was hoping to repeat the feat when she suffered a horrific crash at the world championships last February. She then reinjured the knee in November, and in January, announced she would not be skiing in Sochi.

Vonn has shared much of her rehabilitation with fans, including a picture today on Instagram of Vonn, wearing a knee brace, and her new dog.
