SOCHI, Russia - During the Olympics, the cauldron is as much a symbol of the games as are the rings.
At the 2012 Summer Games in London, most never saw the cauldron because it was tucked away in the main stadium. But in Russia at the 2014 Winter Games, that hasn't been a problem, which is good or bad depending on your perspective.
It is an impressive cauldron, towering hundreds of feet over the park. The Olympic flame is the centerpiece of the park as it grabs the attention of every Olympic tourist for pictures while they pose for the perfect shot. But when you take a much closer look, it appears the cauldron is unfinished.

If you zoom in in pictures, you can see what looks like white panels missing. It may be the design, but zoom in more and you can see writing on the side of the cauldron. It almost looks like something you might find on wood in a construction site.
You can even see what looks like exposed spacers. It's unclear if it's missing material or if it's just part of the design, but for hundreds posing, it doesn't seem to be a factor in their Olympic pictures.
