SOCHI, Russia - Bob Costas returns to host the Olympics Monday night, after missing one week because of an eye infection.
The infection isn't completely gone, so he'll continue to wear glasses. But on the phone Monday, Costas said the light sensitivity and blurriness are much better.
"As people will see tonight, there's still some redness there, I'm better but not as good as I'd like to be, but the redness and swelling while still there, are less than what they used to be," said Costas.
The infection in both eyes ended his streak of 157 consecutive appearances anchoring NBC's Olympic primetime coverage.
Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira have filled in for him.
