ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - New numbers from the St. Louis Youth Soccer Association show the sport is growing at a fast pace.

SLYSA Executive Director Johann Arnason said the league had more teams this spring than ever before with 625. Arnason said that means about 10,000 kids and teens played in the league that operates in Missouri and Illinois. That's a huge increase from 2010 when there was roughly 6,300 players on 397 teams.
