In helping Seth Meyers kick off his new talk show on Monday night, Vice President Biden decided to mock all the chatter about his prospective 2016 presidential campaign.

"Well, you know, I was planning on making a major announcement tonight," Biden told the host of NBC's new Late Night With Seth Meyers. "But I decided tonight's your night ...

"So I hope you'll invite me back," added Biden, who has said he will decide next year whether to seek the White House in 2016.

Meyers also asked his other guest -- comedian Amy Poehler, known for her impression of Hillary Rodham Clinton -- about her plans for 2016.

"Oh, I'm going to run for president," Poehler said.
