ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – St. Louis metropolitan area residents are bracing for the next round of winter weather expected this weekend.

The St. Louis area is under a winter weather advisory through Saturday morning with forecasts calling for freezing rain, sleet and snow with as much as four inches accumulating in some spots of the viewing area.

Freezing rain moved into the area late Friday morning and is expected to turn into all rain by mid afternoon. Then, the rain will become snow Friday evening after 7 p.m. and continue overnight into Saturday morning.

The entire system should be done by Saturday at noon. Many areas could receive between 1 and 3 inches of snow, and in some spots, as much as 4 inches.
