ST. LOUIS – The winter storm has caused some power outages in the area.
As of 3:30 p.m. Sunday, more than 1,500 Ameren Illinois customers were without power in the Alton & Godfrey areas.
On the Missouri side, fewer than 100 people in north St. Louis County reported outages.
By Sunday afternoon, most of the viewing area had received more than 7.5" of snow. Wood River, Ill. had received approximately 12", and downtown St. Louis has more than 9.5" on the ground.

Winds will continue to blow snow, causing drifts. Drivers are urged to stay off roads unless absolutely necessary. Wind chill temperatures will drop to between -25 and -35 degrees below zero in the coming days.
Many local government offices will be closed on Monday.
