KSDK – Freezing rain, sleet and even snow spelled treacherous conditions for drivers across the bi-state region Saturday night.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews pre-treated the roads two days ago, but the rain washed it away. Crews are out in force giving it another go, and warn drivers to take extra caution on bridges and overpasses.

The Illinois Department of Transportation, meanwhile, has crews salting all 11 counties in the metro east and southern part of the state. They'll be out until early morning.
