KSDK – Winter weather once again dominates the forecast, and road crews in the bi-state area are preparing to make Monday's commute as smooth as possible.

Illinois Department of Transportation trucks are already loaded up with salt and ready to go, a spokesperson says. They will send the trucks out an hour before freezing rain first starts to fall.

That should happen early Monday morning.

On the Missouri side of the river, approximately 200 trucks will distribute salt where necessary. Crews anticipate that it will be worse in St. Charles and north St. Louis County, so those areas will get the brunt of the resources.

No additional information was immediately available.
