KSDK - Say good bye to our brief departure from winter.

It comes back on Sunday with a 40-degree temperature drop, with winds gusting to 35 miles per hour, sleet and snow! Clouds will increase tonight with falling temperatures and increasing winds.

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. for areas south of Interstate 70 not including St. Louis City or County.

The precipitation should arrive by Sunday morning, starting with a little freezing rain but quickly changing to sleet and then snow. Cold, dry air aloft may help the St. Louis area as far as snow/sleet amounts. Around an inch on grassy areas is possible with as much as 3 inches south.

Wind chills will be in the teens.

Check for changes to the forecast all evening and overnight. Be sure to tune in the Today in St. Louis beginning at 6 a.m. for updates.
