UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KSDK) – Crews continued cleaning up in University City after Thursday's tornado damaged more than 100 homes.

Rose Marie Staton lost her fence and her shed. Her house had some damage as well.

She's just glad she and her family safe. They were sleeping when the storm hit at around 5 a.m. But she said she got an unusual warning.

"The pressure in my ear. I was hurting and I jumped out of bed and then I started hearing stuff just flying and I said everybody get to the basement, I said everybody to the basement, to the basement, and everybody made it to the basement," she said.

Staton said she's a lot luckier than many of her neighbors.

Many lost roofs and windows.

She's able to stay in her home during clean-up.
