ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Today provided a snapshot of what the atmosphere is going to be doing much of this week. Afternoon arrived with storms taking full advantage of the heat and humidity and the same this is likely to happen tomorrow…and Thursday…and Friday.

But tonight we'll see storms as well. An area of rain including thunderstorms has slowly been moving across the western portions on the NewsChannel 5 viewing area and shows no signs of fading away. Though the storms are weakening we can expect them to move through the metro area slowly northeast probably taking until midnight of 1 a.m. pass us by and they'll continue through areas northeast of St. Louis through at least 4 a.m.

Then tomorrow we'll see a few storms begin to develop by noon with widespread activity increasing through the afternoon as highs push into the upper 80s.
