ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Summer begins officially in exactly three weeks, but summer weather has come early and once again that has meant afternoon storms especially on the Illinois side of the NewsChannel 5 viewing area.
This evening, any storms will fade after sunset but overnight there is a slight chance a large complex of thunderstorms will move in from western Missouri in time for the morning commute with sunrise temperatures near 70.
Monday is completely at the mercy of whether storms get here to start the day. If they do we won't see a whole lot of afternoon storm activity but if they don't…and that's the way it's looking right now…then afternoon and evening storms will return with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Tuesday, we're transitioning to a more active storm producing pattern so afternoon storms are only a slight possibility with highs near 90 but Wednesday storms are likely in the morning and again in the afternoon and there is a slight chance some of those storms could be severe with the main threat being hail and wind.
