ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - There is hope for those weary of the raindrops and that we'll be "in the pink" by the time the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure begins Saturday but, in the short term, hope is close to floating.

Showers and storms will spread across the region the rest of the afternoon and evening and, while none are likely to be severe, a few may generate heavy rain and small hail as they lift generally to the north at about 15 to 20 mph.

These storms should gradually diminish after 7 p.m. and from late evening through the overnight hours we'll see only scattered showers.

Wednesday, look for a few showers in the morning and scattered afternoon showers and a few storms, especially east of St. Louis, with highs in near 80.

Thursday starts relatively calm again though by afternoon storms are likely and some could be strong with highs in the mid 80s.

Then comes Friday. And Saturday. And sun (wrap your mind around this) both days with highs in the low to mid 80s.

By Father's Day…Mother Nature will be sending storms our way. We dads must unite in protest.
