ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The first day of the summer workweek offers a repeat performance from the weather that we saw the first weekend, which means more storms.
Temperatures for most will be a little cooler with afternoon highs in St. Louis and west in the upper 80s, but eastern and southeastern Illinois can expect more sun and highs in the low 90s.
As for thunderstorms, well, they're already up and running by advancing out of southern Missouri and southern Illinois. They should spread out across most areas south of Interstate 44 in Missouri and Interstate 64 in Illinois by midafternoon and after 3 p.m. push north to the Interstate 70 corridor.
More storms are likely this evening and continuing into overnight when we could see heavy rain.
Your Tuesday morning commute is likely to be wet with showers and some storms in the area, but we should clear fairly quickly and get the afternoon off (for a change) from concerns about rain with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
