Flooding in Warren, St. Charles Counties

WARREN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – Heavy rains in the area led to flooding Tuesday afternoon in Warren and St. Charles Counties.

The Warrenton Fire District tweeted that a water rescue was conducted at Pinckney Street and Worthington Drive, and several area roadways were flooded.

The Fire Department says they found a passenger car with three passengers inside trapped on a flooded road, and that all of the passengers were rescued and are now on dry land.

The National Weather Service reports that 2 to 3 feet of water has flooded Highway T in St. Charles County.

Highway 79 is closed in both directions at Vomund Road due to high waters, according to the sheriff's department.

Flash flood warnings were issued for St. Charles, Gasconade and Pike Counties in Missouri and Calhoun County in Illinois.

St. Charles County and Calhoun County were also under severe thunderstorm warnings Tuesday afternoon.
