Fort Leonard Wood suspends non-essential operations due to storm

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (KSDK) – Citing severe weather conditions and record-setting cold, Fort Leonard Wood has suspended all non-essential operations Monday.

Only essential operations – such as emergency, road-clearing and dining facility services – will remain operational. Personnel should contact their supervisors with any questions involving their work schedules.

Hospital and doctors appointments at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital slated to be scheduled. The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities are slated to be closed Monday.

Roads at Fort Leonard Wood are dangerous, according to a news release, and only essential travel should occur, according to a news release.
