ISP warns drivers of I-55 hazards from snow

LITCHFIELD, Ill. (KSDK) – The snow that has moved through the St. Louis metropolitan area has wreaked havoc along Interstate 55, according to Illinois State Police.

The storm has caused the interstate as well as U.S. and state routes in central and southwestern Illinois to become hazardous.

Illinois State Police advise drivers to use extreme caution this morning if traveling Thursday morning and slow to a safe speed for road conditions and allow a safe distance from other cars.
