Severe weather possible overnight

KSDK -Don't let the fact that we were largely spared by severe storms on Sunday lead you to think we're out of harm's way tonight.

Strong storms moving out of central Missouri and the Ozarks and across southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois will bring us a chance for severe weather through much of the night.

There is a huge upper level low pressure system now in the central plains that will be controlling our weather all week as it expands and creeps east. Really, it will be Friday into next weekend before it finally begins to lift north, east and away.

Until then we can expect the following: Monday and Tuesday afternoon and evening storms, some severe, with hail possible and highs near 80 Monday and 70 Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon showers with a chance for a storm and highs near 60. Thursday and Friday afternoon showers and highs in the mid 50s to near 60.
