Severe weather, tornadoes possible today

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Severe storms are possible Sunday and Monday.

Sunday by midday storms should move in from southern Missouri and continue north ahead of a huge weather system that will take most of next week to pass through.

FULL FORECAST: Full weather forecast

From around noon through early evening expect scattered storms that may be severe. Some of these could develop into supercells and a few could produce tornadoes with highs pushing into the low 80s.

Sunday evening a second round of storms should also move at us from the south and these too could produce tornadoes. As it looks now the best chance for storms is from mid Sunday evening until almost sunrise Monday.

Then from midday Monday through early evening a third batch of potentially severe storms moves in from the west ahead of a cold front. These may produce large hail and damaging winds.

Make sure everyone who will be with you is familiar with where the safest place is and get it ready. Of course on the web, through our KSDK apps and on social media we'll add information we'll be sure to share as we lead you through the next few days on NewsChannel 5.
