More storms overnight, severe weather expected Thursday

ST. LOUIS - Strong to severe storms have already left a coating of hail over many parts of the NewsChannel 5 viewing area and it's only the beginning of a prolonged period of potentially severe weather.

ALERTS: Check current warnings and watches

There will be scattered showers and storms Thursday afternoon and evening, and there is a slight chance some may be severe with lightning, strong winds, heavy rain and hail possible. But after midnight and through the Thursday morning commute, we have a better chance of strong to severe storms and these may produce damaging winds, very large hail and there is a chance they could produce tornadoes.
