Snow, sleet moving into St. Louis metro area Tuesday

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) –There is yet another round of winter weather on the way, and while it won't be here at the crack of dawn tomorrow, it will move in quickly and spend most of the day with us.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday morning to 6 a.m. Wednesday morning for Montgomery, Warren, Lincoln and Pike counties (MO) along with Calhoun, Greene, Jersey and Macoupin counties where 6-9" of snow is possible. For most of the rest of the area, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday -- where 3-6" of snow is possible.

There is a Winter Storm Watch in effect for Perry County (MO) and Perry and Jefferson counties (IL) as well Tuesday morning through late Tuesday evening where 1-3" of a mix of snow and sleet will fall.

The morning commute Tuesday should be dry but by mid-to-late morning snow will be working into areas west of St. Louis and from midday through the afternoon and evening through nearly sunrise Wednesday snow will fall across most of the area mixing with some sleet for areas well south of the metro.

Wednesday we'll be greeted with flurries but no addition acculturations of snow and Wednesday and Thursday will be quite. However…

Another winter storm looks likely Friday into the weekend.
