St. Louis' spring fades for new winter weather system

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Numbers 69, 77, 51 and 43. You'd expect to hear "hike" after a sequence like that or, maybe, "Omaha," but those are the highs we've had since spring began Thursday which, it seems, someone has punted away.

A weather winter weather system arrives Monday afternoon with a mix of light rain and snow that might make the evening commute a little bumpy but won't produce any accumulations beyond a trace.

It will arrive Monday afternoon west of St. Louis from early to mid-afternoon, and then push across the St. Louis area from late afternoon through the early evening. The precipitation will be spotty and last through the evening as it works its way south and east through southern Missouri and southern and eastern Illinois by midnight.

Monday night and through Tuesday, we'll still see flurries, and it will remain cold. After an early afternoon high in the low 40s, look for lows in the mid-20s tonight and highs in the mid-30s Tuesday.
