PLANO -- A Plano woman and her two teenage sons are dead after an attack police say was carried out by the older son.
Police and family members have identified the woman as WFAA Daybreak contributor Stacy Fawcett.
Officers were called to the Carrington Park Apartments in the 3100 block of Communications Parkway at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Justin Fawcett, Stacy's brother, told News 8 that the victim's 19-year-old son, McCann Utu, went on a rampage -- taking knives from the kitchen and stabbing his mom and brother, 17-year-old Josiah Utu, a junior at Plano West High School.

McCann Utu called 911 while repeatedly stabbing himself, Justin Fawcett said. He died later Friday at a local hospital. Stacy Fawcett, 45, and Josiah were already dead when officers arrived.

"I'm in so much pain and need to grieve for my boys and Stacy right now," said McCann Utu Sr., the dead boys' father, in a statement to News 8. "I will stay in touch when the time is right. Please respect this time for me and my entire for family. Thank you ... God will use my pain to help and save other that are going through mental illness and concussion. God will glorify through my pain."
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Justin Fawcett for anyone who would like to contribute for the funeral services for the Fawcett family. Any unused funds from the GoFundMe will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank.
Fawcett's brother told News 8 that McCann was never the same after suffering a traumatic brain injury more than a year ago. Scott Fawcett said McCann's brain "will show CTE."
"He had just completely mentally dwindled away," he said.
Waseem Limbada, who called McCann Utu his "best friend," said McCann had been "depressed" since being concussed in 2013.
Fawcett appeared every Saturday on News 8 Daybreak as our resident food expert.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Stacy’s family," said Carolyn Mungo, WFAA's executive news director. "She was a valuable contributor to our WFAA weekend morning team. She loved sharing her passion for food with us and with the viewers in north Texas, and she will be missed.”
News 8 Daybreak anchor Ron Corning, who worked with Fawcett and called her a friend, also responded to news of her death Friday afternoon.
