She’s the only reporter at 5 On Your Side who started as an intern and worked her way onto the air without ever leaving the station. She did, however, have a number of behind-the-scenes jobs for a year-and-a-half before getting her chance on St. Louis’ most-popular magazine show, Show Me St. Louis, in 1998. During that time Heidi also reported and hosted a weekly sports show on Fox Sports Midwest.
After nine years reporting and hosting Show Me St. Louis, Heidi thought it might be fun to wake up at 3 a.m. and report for Today in St. Louis. At the time, the show was anchored by Art Holliday and Jennifer Blome, a pair she lovingly refers to as her TV parents.
Five years of middle-of-the-night wakeup calls was enough, so in 2012 she returned to normal working hours as a features reporter for the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. It’s there that she often gave viewers a peek behind-the-scenes of shows, including NBC’s This is Us and Superstore. She even made an appearance on Superstore! She even interviewed popular celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Jenna Fischer, and Jon Hamm, just to name a few.
In May 2014 Heidi returned to her first love, Show Me St. Louis to feature to places, people, and interesting things that make our area so special.
Heidi grew up in New Madrid, Missouri, a small town with a population of 3,334. She is a graduate of William Woods University, where she played basketball and softball. These days she spends as much time as possible with her nephew and niece and hits the road whenever possible in her RV.
