Soft Surroundings will open 16 new stores this year, including its first brick-and-mortar locations in California.
Soft Surroundings' latest expansion will start in April with a store in Marlton, New Jersey, near Philadelphia. Other markets slated to see new stores include Baltimore, Orlando and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as well as the California cities of Santa Rosa, Mission Viejo, Rancho Cucamonga and Walnut Creek. Investment costs were not disclosed.
The new stores mark the retailer's fourth consecutive year of double-digit store openings, said Senior Vice President of Retail Danny Boddy, and will bring the total number of locations to 75. That means that by the end of this year, the Creve Coeur-based company will have opened 58 stores since 2015.
