A mix of wintry weather will impact the St. Louis area this morning and again tonight through Thursday morning.
An area of rain and light freezing rain, with some sleet, will move through St. Louis before and during the morning commute on your Wednesday.
Accumulations will be light, under a tenth of an inch this morning. This weather may impact your morning drive today. Watch for patchy ice and slick spots on the area roads, especially untreated surfaces, bridges, on/off ramps, and overpasses.
The main area of precipitation will move out of St. Louis before 9 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a cloudy but dry and cold day. This evening, another area of wintry precipitation will move into the bi-state, bringing areas of light rain and freezing drizzle into metro St. Louis.
Slick spots will develop again tonight and for the Thursday morning rush hour.
Additional ice accumulation will be up to another tenth of an inch. By midday, Thursday, warming temperatures, and drier air will move in, shutting down the ice and leaving St. Louis dry.
