Hayley Vawter is a digital desk producer at 5 On Your Side. She was raised in Union, Missouri and grew up watching 5 On Your Side.
Hayley graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in December 2021 and was so excited to get the opportunity in February 2022 to join the 5 On Your Side team and contribute to the newsroom environment from behind-the-scenes.
She really enjoys writing, and in college, her experience came from writing as print and digital reporter for the Columbia Missourian. She loves getting to work in a visual field of journalism at 5 On Your Side with all the anchors she grew up watching on TV. Her favorite thing to cover is breaking news, but she also loves writing a feel-good story.
Outside of work, Hayley loves trying new restaurants and visiting museums. Hayley is a massive dog lover and will show pictures of her pets whenever she has the chance. She also loves traveling and exploring new cities.
