Kayla Wheeler is a senior digital desk producer at 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a senior digital desk producer, Kayla urgently and aggressively covers breaking and developing stories, manages newsroom assignments and oversees the quality of 5 On Your Side digital content efforts across all platforms.
Creating a social experience is important to Kayla – she enjoys bringing the best content to viewers not only through the website, but on all social platforms.
Kayla is a native of Arnold, Missouri and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with an emphasis in multimedia journalism.
After she graduated, Kayla worked part-time as a digital content producer at a CBS affiliate before joining 5 On Your Side as a full-time digital producer in November 2017. In November 2022, she was promoted to senior digital desk producer.
When Kayla isn’t working, she’s either lifting weights in the gym, playing with her dog Louie or binge-watching TV shows and having cheat meals with her husband, Kyle. In February 2022, she welcomed her first child, Archer.
