Sasha Sander is a digital desk producer at 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri.

As a digital desk producer, Sasha urgently and aggressively covers breaking and developing stories, manages newsroom assignments and oversees the quality of 5 On Your Side digital content efforts across all platforms.

Innovation and creativity are Sasha’s greatest strengths, which led her to invent a modification to the deodorant stick as well as create a social media segment called the Morning Minute at her previous station. These skills have allowed her to learn expert search engine optimization techniques advancing 5 On Your Side’s award-winning work so it's seen on all digital platforms, especially YouTube.

Sasha joined the 5 On Your Side team in April 2019 and came to St. Louis from 5 On Your Side's sister station THV11, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. There she worked as the morning show producer and MMJ for the lifestyle show called The Vine.

Sasha attended Mizzou on a full gymnastics scholarship where she earned all-SEC athletic honors and was a multiple Scholastic All-American. After her gymnastics career, as an athlete, she switched gears working as a sports analyst, broadcasting on SEC Network and ESPN.

With a Japanese background, Sasha also hosts an international charity event in Japan each year. This fundraiser brings awareness to the Fukushima prefecture where a tsunami and earthquake caused a nuclear disaster in 2011. In 2019, she helped raise $30 million, supporting area rebuilding efforts.

Food, travel and adventure are some activities Sasha enjoys when she is not in the newsroom. You’ll most likely find her at a hipster coffee shop or maybe taking a hike. If you see her, be sure to say “hi"! She’s always ready to meet new faces.
