Woofie’s to sell its one-millionth hot dog today

That's a whole lot of hot dogs over the years!

OVERLAND, Mo. — It’s a St. Louis area staple and one of the area’s most popular spots to get a hot dog.

On Friday, it’s expected to sell its one-millionth hot dog.

Woofie’s opened in Overland in December 1976. It’s known for selling the ‘best Chicago dog’ in St. Louis. It's also known for having celebrities sign the walls when they visit the restaurant. 

The famous hot dog spot said on Facebook it estimates the one-millionth hot dog will be sold between noon and 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. 

Woofie's said one million hot dogs is equal to 94 miles. 

'Looking forward to meeting the customer that buys the millionth hot dog,' Woofie's said on Facebook.

Woofie's has definitely developed a strong fan-base over the years. One person on the Facebook post said they might have to fly in from Florida, 

'I might have to fly in from Orlando to get me a deep-fried Big Herm with a bunch of added grilled onions,' Bob Godwin said on the post.
