Creve Couer Park is acre after acre of outdoor adventure.

A place where you can usually pedal and paddle, but this Saturday you can really branch out...thanks to Jon Richard the founder of vertical voyages.

He's a guy who's been reaching for new heights for more than 20 years.

But the way he approaches a tree, probably isn't how you remember it.

His way, however, will get you higher up, with a lot less scrapes.

After one more check...we're putting hand over hand gently pulling our way up into an old American elm to get a different view of Creve Couer Park.

It is a beautiful way to get tied up for moment.

And this is just one of 40 activities you'll be able to try Saturday at Life Outside.

Life Outside, a free festival of the outdoors from Great Rivers Greenway is this Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm at Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park. Not only will you be able to climb, bike and paddle..there will be music and food trucks. To learn more go to livelifeoutside.org. And if you go, be sure to wear tennis shoes so you can do all of the activities.

Jon is such a nice, patient guy and can lead you on all sorts of vertical journeys, he does rock climbing and tree climbing for beginners to advanced climbers. To learn more go to verticalvoyages.com. You can also call 314-477-6008.
