Black Jack firefighters pay birthday visit to little girl they helped deliver

The firefighters helped deliver Zara when her mother went into labor at home and couldn't make it to the hospital

BLACK JACK, Mo. — Firefighters paid a special visit to a little girl on the anniversary of the day they brought her into the world.

Two years ago, Zara's mother went into labor. She wasn't able to make it to the hospital, so a crew from the Black Jack Fire Protection District helped deliver Zara at home.

On Monday, Zara turned 2 years old. The same crew was on duty and stopped by to wish her a happy birthday in person, from 6 feet away.

"We’re glad that the family is happy and healthy," the department wrote on Facebook. "...Happy Birthday Zara!"

Black Jack Fire District would like to wish an extra special happy b... irthday to Zara who turned two today! Black Jack Firefighters and Paramedics assisted with Zara's delivery when her mother went into labor at home and was unable to make it to the hospital.
