Schnuck Markets Inc. is suing the architecture firm that designed its Kehrs Mill store, alleging the firm's plans led to faulty masonry work.

According to court documents, Schnucks alleges that Tampa, Florida-based Architectureplus International Inc., also known as API+, failed to prepare adequate design drawings and specifications of the Kehrs Mill store at 2511 Kehrs Mill Road in Ballwin. Those drawings did not include moisture protection, allowing excess moisture to enter, and the company said the brick veneer, brick on the foundation wall and the stone cap on the foundation walls will need to be reinstalled, according to the suit that was filed in St. Louis County Circuit Court. Schnucks said it became aware of the damage described in the suit in 2016; the Kehrs Mill store was built in 2012.
