Career Central: Saint Louis Zoo looking for summer, part-time workers

The Saint Louis Zoo is offering flexible weekday and weekend positions for those ages 15 and up.

ST. LOUIS — Looking to make some extra cash this summer? The Saint Louis Zoo is hosting a series of job fairs to recruit summer and part-time workers.

The Saint Louis Zoo said it offers flexible weekday and weekend positions for those ages 15 and up. Positions start at $13.25 an hour, with many weekday positions starting at $14.75.

The job fairs will take place in The Living World at the zoo's North Entrance on the following dates:

  • 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 28.
  • 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 3.
  • 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1.

At the job fairs, the zoo will be taking applications for summer work positions as well as immediate part-time positions in catering, food service, attraction operation, education interpreting, retail and more.

The zoo said those who attend the fairs will learn about the available positions and get the opportunity to interview with the possibility of same-day job offers.

Registration for the job fairs is not required. Attendees are recommended to wear business casual attire. All successful candidates will be required to submit a criminal background check and drug test.
