A hotel proposed for the old Clayton police headquarters will be an AC Hotel by Marriott, according to plans filed with the city.

The developer, HomeBase Partners of Montana, wants to build a 12-story, $43 million hotel at 227 S. Central Ave. that will feature a first-floor restaurant and rooftop bar open to the public. HomeBase entered into an agreement with the city of Clayton to buy the property, a deal worth $2.4 million, according to a previous Business Journal report.

Plans indicate the hotel will be 119,236 square feet and will use an adjacent parking structure for parking. Johnson Nathan Strohe of Denver is the architect firm for the project, according to the plans. The Clayton Plan Commission will review the plans at its Feb. 20 meeting.
