Cleanup begins and partying continues after Blues parade

Once the parade and rally wrapped up, the celebrations were far from over.

ST. LOUIS — Saturday was a first for St. Louis -- a day this city has waited on for decades.

Exact numbers haven't been released, but it's estimated there were 500,000 people at the Stanley Cup parade and rally.

Once the parade and rally wrapped up, the celebrations were far from over.

Hours after the festivities were done, fans were still partying in Ballpark Village. When we asked how long one fan was celebrating, he said until tomorrow.

For those who didn't hit the bars right after, they were still in the midst of chaos.

One fan said: "We parked in this parking lot here and it's taken us an hour to get this far not even make it 100 yards yet."

Another fan sat in her car for 45 minutes. Even though it was bumper to bumper, many were optimistic. "Anything for the Stanley Cup," Amy Schlimpart said.

As far as the cleanup goes, the Arch grounds are pretty clear. Market Street, along with other areas were still covered with some bottles and trash by 7:30.

Luckily, one organization that does clean up efforts stepped in. "We saw the mess behind and we decided to grab our cars and help clean up the city until we run out of trash bags, we will do what we can," Brandon Coon adds.

But the trash cans filled to the rim and scattered beers, are just a reminder of what a great time the city of St. Louis had with a team that made history.
