2 girls shot in Monday afternoon shooting near Sumner High School

One was shot in the leg and another was shot in the foot. Both girls were alert and breathing when they were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

ST. LOUIS — Two girls were shot and injured right in front of Sumner High School Monday evening.

Police said they were called to the intersection of Billups and St. Ferdinand Avenues in The Ville Neighborhood at around 5:30 after shots were fired from a moving car. Police said they found two girls, ages 15 and 16, with gunshot wounds. One was shot in the leg and another was shot in the foot.

Both girls were alert and breathing when they were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police did not provide their ages or more information on their conditions.
